This project depicts an underground environment in a state of complete abandonment, where nature and urban decay intertwine. The goal was to create an immersive, atmospheric, and story-driven scene through lighting, materials, and environmental details.
I created the environment using Unreal Engine for real-time rendering and lighting, Blender for roots and organic modeling, and Substance Painter for PBR texturing.
The neon lighting, contrasted with the overgrown roots and vegetation, contributes to a mysterious, post-apocalyptic mood. Special attention was given to composition, asset placement, and the creation of realistic materials to convey a strong sense of abandonment and nature reclaiming the space.
The project explores themes such as time, the natural world taking over human structures, and the beauty of urban ruins, blending organic and architectural elements into an immersive and narrative-driven environment.
